Paul Schendel is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 28 years with Honeywell where he manages C4I Programs supporting the US Navy.  He received his BS degree in Engineering from St. Cloud State University in 1982 and a MBA from Florida Institute of Technology in 1993.  He received his PMP in 2008. He has been an active member of the PMI SOMD Board of Directors for the past four years holding the positions of Member and Large and Vice President of Membership and Community Involvement.

Don Bouchard, PMP

Bouchard_DonDon is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and serves as Vice President, NAVAIR Programs for AM Pierce & Associates. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the United States Naval Academy. After graduating he served in the active and reserve components of the United States Navy for twenty-five years.  He has professional experience withprogressively increasing responsibilities in project and program management, the oversight of large, multidiscipline organizations and is adept at building highly effective teams.

In his community, Don is an active adult Scout leader, and has served in various volunteer positions including Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster and Unit Committee Chair. He volunteers as the Southern Maryland Regional Chair for the Maryland Field Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. He is a graduate of Leadership Southern Maryland, Class of 2010.

Jaime.KronenbergJaime Kronenberg is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and currently works for Smartronix, Inc. as a Project Manager. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Park University in Management/Human Resources and a Master of Science degree from University of Maryland University College in Technology Management with a specialization in Project Management. Jaime has held several positions within PMI Southern MD and very much enjoys being a part of this volunteer organization. She is actively involved in PMI Region 5 Chapter activities as well.  Jaime enjoys music of all kinds, reading, and spending time with her husband, two sons, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling--especially to anywhere with warm weather and a beach!!

Patricia (Trish) Douglass works for Booz Allen Hamilton and has been supporting the US Government for 11 years doing a variety of program management roles. She attained her Master’s degree in 2008 from Florida Institute of Technology in Management.  She also has her Certified Defense Financial Management – Acquisition (CDFM-A) certification as well as her Program Management Professional (PMP) certificate. Trish is currently serving on the Southern Maryland PMI Board of Directors as the Secretary.

As a project analyst at Honeywell, I assist project managers in creating project management plans, budgets, schedules and tracking EVM data. I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and my CAPM. I enjoy playing any sport in my down time but have recently become an avid golfer. Terri_CallTheresa (Terri) has been employed with Washington Gas for 28 years.  Over the course of her career, she has managed the transition of cash processing as well as integrating the cash processing of the Frederick office to an outside vendor.  She continues to lead the testing phases of multiple projects to ensure the quality is maintained in billing functions and/or customer services operations.  She has an AA in Accounting from CSM and obtained her PMP certification in July, 2007.  Terri has served multiple positions in the past on the PMI Southern Maryland Board of Directors.

Diana Manchak works as a Project Manager for Honeywell.  In charge of the Project Management Office (PMO), Diana works with project leads to develop all elements of the project – charter, scope, schedule, budget, risk, change control…etc.  She manages the Honeywell Summer Intern Program where 14 engineering and computer science interns are tasked and challenged each summer.  As the local Business Development lead, Diana also works as a proposal/capture manager.  

Diana earned a Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University in 2006, and received her CAPM certification in 2007.  She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in business leadership online through DePaul University and is studying for the PMP.

Veronica Apiafi

Veronica Apiafi is a Project Manager with over 20 years of experience in Litigation Support and Electronic Discovery.  She worked for 8 years at CACI where she was the primary Attorney Support Project Manager on a project that settled for more than Two Billion Dollars ($2 B) in favor of their client.  Prior to working at CACI, she was the in-house counsel for an American oil-services company working in Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (JD equivalent) degree.

Jennifer LaRocque is a Project Manager at SAIC supporting the 4.5.10 ICIS Division at Webster Field Annex where she is the Quality Management Lead.  She has over 18 years of professional experience, 15 of those years within IT at a large Insurance Company in New Hampshire where she began as a Software Engineering (with a B.S. in Management Information Systems) and worked her way up the ladder to Project Manager, attained a Master's Certificate in IT Project Management and became a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.  She has been supporting the US Government for the last 3 years in a variety of project management roles. In 2010, with 7 years of project management experience, Jennifer attained her PMP certification.  In 2011, she became a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) in MS Project 2007 and an ISO 9901:2008 Certified Lead Auditor.  In early 2012, she attained an MBA from Capitol College.  Jennifer has been an active member of PMI and the SOMD PMI chapter since 2010 and aspires to obtain a position on the board of directors.

Robert Gionfriddo, PMP

Rob_GionfriddoRob Gionfriddo is a Specialist Master for Deloitte Consulting in Lexington Park with over 17 years of experience in program/project management, risk management, configuration management, information assurance, foreign disclosure, technology protection, policy and process development, and software process improvement in support of the US Navy.  He has been a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 1999 and is currently pursuing certification as a Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) through PMI.  Rob is an active member of PMI’s Risk Management Community of Practice and is the Risk and Issues Management Competency Co-lead for Deloitte’s Acquisition and Program Management Community of Practice.  He previously served on the SoMD PMI Chapter’s Board of Directors as VP Administration and VP Finance from 2000-2004 and would like to become more actively engaged with the Chapter in advancing the body of knowledge in our local community.  Rob has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s of Science in Systems Management from Capitol College and is in the process of retiring from the Marine Corps Reserve after 26 years of combined active and reserve duty.

Rob has resided in St. Leonard, MD with his wife and two children since 1997.  He actively supports Boy Scout Troop 430 as a registered committee member and serves as the Troop’s Advancement Co-chair.  He also leads Deloitte Consulting’s support of the United Way of St. Mary’s County Annual Day of Caring.  Rob enjoys going to his daughter’s musical performances and watching his son play baseball.  He likes to play golf and is trying to learn to play the guitar.

 Greg is a Sr. Program Manager for Wyle Aerospace Group in Lexington Park, MD. Wyle is a national leader in providing specialized engineering, scientific and technical services to DoD, NASA and commercial customers. Wyle has locations in over 40 sites nationwide.  Recently, Greg assumed responsibility for the growth and development of Wyle’s Unmanned/Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Test and Evaluation Sector supporting the projects and programs of their DoD customers and their partners in the growing UAS field. Greg received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master’s Degree in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee. Greg is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS) and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.

Greg is an active member of the community. He has actively supported Wyle and the Patuxent Partnership’s STEM activities and participated in local charity activities. He has recently joined and become active in the local Southern Maryland Chapter of Project Management Institute and PMI Region 5 activities.

Carol "Lynn" Thomas, PMP

I am Carol Lynn Thomas, but please call me Lynn!  I  work for the 2.0 Contracts Competency for the Department of the Navy at Patuxent River as a Contract Specialist.  I have held this position for two years and 3 months since retiring from Calvert County Government in June of 2009.  Over the course of my career with Calvert County Government, spanning almost 34 years, I held a number of positions with the most recent being Construction Project Coordinator and Project Engineer II.  In these positions, I managed the procurement and project management of the Capital Projects in Calvert County.  I attained my Master's degree in Technology Management from University of Maryland University College in 2005 and my Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate in August of 2008.  In my new career with the Navy, I attained my Level II Contracting Certification from the Defense Acquisition University (DAWIA) in March of 2011.  I have served on the Scholarship Committee for the Southern Maryland PMI Chapter for the past two years.  As you can see, I have a mixed bag of tricks.  But what I have learned from all of this is the belief that the principles of project management are applicable to every profession. I, therefore, offer my services to the community to promote the mission and core values of the PMI.

Yolonda H. Higdon has over fifteen years of experience in the construction and interior design industry and specializes in large, complex government transition projects.  She has received her LEED and PMP certifications.  She is currently pursuing her own Relocation Management company and possesses extensive knowledge of government relocation management, corporate office interiors, project management, schedule and budget development, vendor management, and transition team facilitation.  Ms. Higdon’s success is in her ability to build excellent client relationships and rapport among team members on her projects.  Her proficiency in relationship building is evident as she consistently exceeds client expectations on client satisfaction performance evaluations that are completed on all projects.  Ms. Higdon’s flexibility and calm professional demeanor ensure that client transitions and moves are smooth with minimal disruption client operations.  She has worked on a wide variety of government, healthcare and educational projects and has held titles such as: Interior Designer, Facilities Designer, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Project Manager Executive.  She has also facilitated her recent company in landing major government contracts from the Navy as well as other DoD agencies.
